Hello friends!
So I have been traveling a lot recently: Charlotte, New York, and Germany all in the past three weeks. After so much travel, I’m looking forward to being home and enjoying everything fall has to offer.
I’ve been craving the comfort, peace, slowness and richness of autumn. In summer, it feels like everyone is in fast forward except for me. As the days get darker and nights get colder, the world seems to move closer to a pace I prefer.
I’ve been reflecting on a lot lately and my travels have brought some important, eye-opening discoveries about me and my path forward.
The world has been speaking to me and I’ve been embracing this period of discovery.
This week’s newsletter will be quite short as my mind’s been on other things and these reflections haven’t quite come together in a way to be shared yet.
More to come on that…until then, you’ll find what I’ve been consuming these couple weeks below.
✨ Thought-provoking
Your Life in Review
This video from Ali Abdaal on how to design your dream life.
My thoughts: This is a great thought experiment to get you thinking more about what you want out of life.

You Should Call Out Sick
This article from Business Insider on why we should be calling out sick.
My thoughts: Through most of my career I have not had dedicated sick days. Now that I do I still question my ability to take them. Employees and employers continue to have different attitudes on what constitutes well-being.

Dating Apps are Out
This article from the Atlantic on why everyone hates dating apps.
My thoughts: I once heard someone say that dating apps aren’t dating apps they’re meeting apps. Another sentiment that I heard recently was the fact that if people took all of the time they spent swiping and used that time to do literally anything else – they’d probably be in a better position to meet someone they’re actually interested in, or at least would be happier enjoying hobbies instead of swiping.

Practical Ways to Cut Back on UFPs
This article from The Guardian on practical ways to cut down on ultra processed foods.
My thoughts: Nutrition and level of processing aren’t the same thing – current food classifications doesn’t make this super clear.
What I’m up to
New York New York
Had a great time visiting friends in New York and finally got to visit MoMA. Other NYC highlights include getting new piercings, brunch at Sunday in Brooklyn, and drinks on a rooftop with friends.
My thoughts: I could never live in New York. I have fun visiting but am always so happy to leave 😅. It just goes to show there’s no better feeling than loving where you live. I love traveling but I love coming home more.
What has my attention
Short N’ Sweet
This article from the Atlantic on the gender divide exposed in Sabrina Carpenter’s new album.
My thoughts: I think this article does a little too much overanalyzing of pop music and tries to create a new narrative that isn’t really there. People have had terrible romantic situations since the end of time – it’s not a new phenomenon.
That’s all for now, friends! Remember, what you water grows — see you next time! 💗
